I began playing piano aged 10, and took my first three grades in the same year.  At 15, I started giving piano lessons to primary school children.   I went on to achieve ABRSM grade 8, and distinction in music theory.  Aged 17, I went to study music at City University in London.

After completing my honours degree, I trained as a secondary school teacher and taught in schools in Essex and Kent for five years. I have been entering students for ABRSM grade exams since 2005 and have a 100% success rate.

I have performed across the UK and in Europe – solo piano, pop covers and in indie-rock band Life Thru Iris.  I’m a published music journalist (Kerrang!, NME), editor, and photographer, and have run events.

Asides from music, I take photos, and enjoy travelling, and walking my dogs at the beach.
